Grass strips and helipads are missing from nav database - Recon026 - 01-03-2026 Hi, New user, trying software and all my common airports with grass strips and helipads are missing from the nav database. is there a way to enable xplane 12 default airport navigation. My home IRL airport is not listed on nav database but the sealed strips down the road are. I do not subscribe to navigraph as I have no need to. RE: Grass strips and helipads are missing from nav database - adminOwner2 - 01-04-2026 Hello, Thank you for your question on the TDS GTNXi XPlane. As far as navigation databases, we offer two choices: real world database and Navigraph. We do not offer in-sim databases due to the great complexity of the internal navdata, it is a great accomplishment to be able to offer Navigraph and we will continue doing our best to push the bar even higher. The real world database is, as described, real world, so if an airport is missing from it, it will be missing from the real GTN Xi unit as well. The Navigraph database is managed by Navigraph, we just display what is being offered. In the case of airport YCAB, it is present in the real world database cycle 2409 (at the time of writing), as well as Navigraph cycle 2513. Which database is being loaded on startup? If your default is running a different cycle, how does one update it??? RE: Grass strips and helipads are missing from nav database - adminOwner2 - 01-05-2026 Yes, that is correct, as part of our agreement with Navigraph, we are distributing cycle 2302, as do all other add-ons which support Navigraph, the navdata provided by free is supplied by Navigraph. Please refer to the TDS GTNXi PDF manual for information on how to use/update to the PC Trainer database, which should be cycle 2409 at the time of writing. |
