Pop Out Window Not Working - Crewchief408 - 04-13-2026
Please forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere, I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer.
Originally, I was having issues with FPS dropping from over 100 to 10 or less into an hour long flight, but I don't think it was an TDS GTNXi issue. Troubleshooting got me no answers, so reinstalled Windows 11 and FS 2024 to a cleanly formatted SSD.
With a fresh install of Win11/FS24, I started to install plugins. After installing TDS GTNXi, I noticed I can't Pop-Out the window. When I press the r/Alt key and left click there is sort of a flash across the unit, but it does not pop out. I tried this with several other aircraft using the TDS unit but the same thing is happening in all other aircraft. When I try the PMS or Asobo Pop-Out, the window pops out just fine, leading me to think this is a TDS issue. I've never had any issues previously with the TDS unit and I've been using it for at least 5 years, at least nothing like this. I also made sure the package in my community folder is Enabled. I did find it odd that the instrument version says 0.0.0.0 (see attached screenshot)
MSFS 2024 version: 1.6.3.4.0
TDS Install Manager: 1.0.1.7 (I am using the Pro version of the unit)
Aviation Trainer: 3.10.3.0
GTNXi Trainer: 20.42.2.0
FS24 Guage: 3.1.3
I use a RealSimGear GTN750 monitor and GFC500 autopilot unit: 2.1.2
Win11
Asus MB
4TB SSD for C:/
64GB Corsair RAM
NVIDIA GTX 4090

Hello,
From the TDS side, the pop-ups in MSFS are handled by the simulator alone and not part of the TDS GTNXi system, in fact we do not even receive any notification that our gauge is drawn as a pop-up.
Based on our experience, if a different GTN screen is being drawn at the same position as our TDS GTNXi, then this can cause the exact issue stated by you. This is an aircraft add-on support request than a TDS one.
However, you can use the MSFS Pop-out Panel Manager to show the GTNXi pop-up, which should address your request:

Thanks for the info, and I do understand what you're saying, but it's just strange that I've not ever had this issue before in many years of using it and on a clean install it's happening on every aircraft I've tested using the TDS gauge when trying to pop out the unit, 7 different aircraft so far. I'll try MSFS2024 support.

The addon did work and that's awesome, I just hate having yet another addon taxing my system. I'll keep troubleshooting so hopefully I don't need to use the utility, but at least it does work. Thank you again.

Indeed, if the pop-ups have worked in the past and not now, then maybe something on the simulator side has changed as well.
