Touch Screen Unresponsive in VR - XP 12 - Rover - 07-20-2026
Hi,
I've upgraded to the GTN 750Xi from the GTN 750 and the touchscreen is unresponsive if I start the flight in VR. This didn't happen with the old 750, just started with the 750Xi. If I start it in 2D mode and switch to VR it seems to be fine.
Any suggestions?

Thank you for this bug report, we did find an issue on our end with VR creation before the aircraft is loaded and we have fixed it. We can not state for certain if this is the bug fix for your specific case.
Exactly which touchscreen is unresponsive: 2d pop-up or virtual cockpit integration?
Which aircraft are you using inside X-Plane 12.4.3?
From the TDS end we are working on some VR changes internally to align ourselves with the latest X-Plane code changes, this is an ongoing collaborative effort between us and LR. Because of this, we recommend that we revisit this issue with the a future, official version of X-Plane as well as the next TDS GTNXi XPlane, V1.0.1.6 where we hope that all components will align.

The cockpit integration screen is the one that is unresponsive. The bezel buttons and knobs work - Home, Direct To, ... but the screen does not, until I click it once in 2D mode, then it's fine. I haven't tried to interact with the popup in 2D to see if that activates it, just the integrated unit in the heli in 2D.
Several aircraft - Bell 429, Bell 412, MD500E... pretty much every heli that has the GTNXi integration.
Also, not sure if this is related but I'm seeing this in the log on shutdown: [TDS GTNXi Plugin for XPlane]: Dataref is not owned by you - you cannot unregister.

I did a quick test and started in VR mode and confirmed the touchscreen was unresponsive. In VR mode I opened the GTNXi menu and selected "Show Window". I took the VR unit off and interacted with the popup window clicking Continue several times to get to the Home screen. I then put the VR unit back on and tried to interact with the integrated screen and still got no response. I then disabled VR mode, interacted with the integrated screen using the mouse, then went back into VR mode and the integrated screen became responsive.
So, interacting with the popup screen does not fix the issue. You need to be completely in 2D mode.
EDIT: I tried just switching to 2D mode and not interact with the GTN then back into VR mode. It too does not fix the issue. You need to interact with the integrated unit in 2D for it to become active in VR mode. I hope this helps.
