Why random black screens on startup? - jadkar - 08-23-2026
Windows 11 - 25H2
Aviation trainer: 3.10.3.0
GTNXi PC Trainer: 20.42.2.0
FS 2024
Executable 1.3.1.5
Gauge 3.0.6
Two defender rules, one for the roar service and one for the app itself. Made both inbound and outbound rules.
Upon starting the avionics I get the infamous black screen.
This works randomly and nothing consistent fixes it.
The solution as I read with others cannot keep being reinstall the application using TDS GPS Manager running as admin. Please provide better troubleshooting. People don't have hours and days to "fix" their setup just to use the sim for a hour or two.
This is beyond frustrating because for no rhyme or reason it sometimes works.

We are sorry to hear this, we are here to help.
Which antivirus are you using? It is very important to mention if you are running a different antivirus than the standard Windows Defender.
There is no need to constantly reinstall the TDS GTNXi Pro using the TDS GPS Manager.
After replicating the black screen issue, close the TDS GTNXi Pro/MSFS and send us the TDS log files from My Documents.
Not to worry, we will find a solution, we always do.

Thank you. The anti-virus installed is Norton 360. The logs are attached

We have also made note of this thread and in the future we will discuss other ways of technically handling this issue for a perfect user experience!

Apologies I never answered back. Following your suggestion regarding Norton I used AI to research the correct exclusions and made them successfully. Amazing that I had Norton disabled and it still wasn't working without the exclusions. All is good now, thank you.
