VNAV Descent Using Autopilot
#1
Are VNAV descents using Autopilot available with this software?

After several hours of testing with both VC and standalone setups have not been able to fly a VNAV descent using the autopilot to follow a profile.  Comfortable with the process from simulator and RL experience, but noticed that after engaging VNAV to follow a profile ... do not see a change to VPATH and aircraft does not descend.

Enjoying the software otherwise and appreciate clarification on this question.

Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for your feature request. Unfortunately as it is now, the MSFS engine and SDK do not allow for a proper and correct VNAV integration, we hear that this is work in progress, so our VNAV descend feature will not be available until we get proper support. The same answer applies to the VPATH indicator variable. Sorry that this is not the response that you want.

Kind thanks for an immediate reply and clarification.  Understand and appreciate your teams efforts to bring this software to us.

Best wishes with future enhancements!

I know this is 4+ years old, but fairly new here and reading on the forums to see what is not functioning in the TDS GTN I just bought. It does not seem like VNAV using the GTN 650xi and the G3X from the Simworks RV-14 is working. Similar issue with the FSReborn Sting S4.... if flies down through sometimes. Any info on this? Is it me? I had PMS 50 and VNAV worked well, but upgraded as it was said TDS was more accurately modelled. THanks

Hello John,

VNAV as part of the G3X is handled by the G3X and not by TDS, because of this, we try our best to improve the simulation within the constraints of the G3X SDk, but some items do not work as expected. This is still under analysis and slow improvement.

Ok, I see. Thanks for the information. This is one item I require and as it's working in PMS I'll need to revert. I"ll lose a few things and gain one but that's life. Thanks again as I was having a hard time finding info on this and was wondering and testing to see if it was my issue. Great product.
