GTN750xi FPL errors and Direct To intermittent func
#1
Hello,
MSFS 2020, using the pop out panel from Sim Innovations. Flying the Coronado 182RG II.
It seems that at intermittent times, the Direct To function does not work and the previously active waypoint remains active.
Other errors I have is with the FPL Flight Plan where inserting and removing waypoints, and deleting the flight plan result in errors.

I made a video of this error: https://photos.app.goo.gl/5Sx7761XAUgH7byk7

Currently using versions of:
- TDS GTNXi Flight Sim 1.3.1.1 -
- Garmin Aviation Trainer Launcher GTN Xi V21.03 (also installed GTN Xi v20.42) -

Deleted flight plan:

When on the ground and stationary, with a fresh sim or avionics power cycle, everything works as intended. It seems the errors start after I am in the air.

Would appreciate assistance resolving this bug.
Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for the report, we are actively looking into this. In the meantime, can you confirm that you have the Navigraph navdata cycle 2513 installed?
If so, can you please uninstall it from the Navigraph Hub and try again? Please do let us know as it is important to us.

While this is not an easy fix for us, we are doing our best to replicate this bug so we can get it solved.

Thank you for the reply.

I do not have a Navigraph subscription yet. So unlikely I have the navdata cycle 2513 installed. I haven't gotten that far. So I have whatever it came with. "Databases" is empty. See this screenshot:      . Not even sure how to check it.

Also. when I have the TDS GTNXi Flight Sim app running, on the SETTINGS page, does it matter where the "Navigation Source" is set to ("GTN750xi Unit 1" or "Flight Simulator")?  No idea what this function is.

Please advise on any next steps I can do to help.

Hello,

Thank you for the information. Have you installed any non standard PC Trainer navigation databases?

The navigation source functionality of the interface is related to the autopilot, please do not change/touch it, as there is no need to at this point, it has become a Legacy setting that will be removed. Flight Simulator should not be selected.

No PC trainer nav databases have been installed. I have a bare minimum configuration to get MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe with the carenado 182RG II (I'm actually doing my real world IFR training in this aircraft but with the 750xi and 650xi, basically similar to my MSFS pop out panel configuration you saw in the video). The additional software / plug ins I've installed are:
- TDS GTNXi (your product)
- Sim Innovations Air Manager
- MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager https://flightsim.to/file/35759/msfs-pop...el-manager
- Octavi IFR-1 plug-in

Understood. I have not touched this setting.

Should I install any of the Navigraph databases? I do not yet have a subscription. So I'm running on the default cycle 2302.

Can you please temporarily remove the provided Navigraph navdata cycle 2302, by renaming/moving the:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\TDS\GTNXi\Database\MSFS\NavigraphDB.dat
Where %username% is your Windows Account username

Please let us know how it goes.

I tried this (renamed the DB file to .bak). I did 2 short flights and so far no issues. I'll fly more tomorrow and provide you with a more conclusive update.

I do want to update to a newer nav database. Any advice on this?

Hello,

We are investigating this, as it seems like a rather isolated case. Are you running a different PC Trainer navigation database than the default provided one?

sorry for the late reply. I was away from my home sim all weekend.

I do not have a different PC trainer nav database. to my knowledge. I installed everything per the instructions. Perhaps you can tell me where to look to verify my configuration is nominal?

I will do some more test flights now with what appears to be the 2401 database (after renaming the NavigraphDB.dat, 2401 appears on the GTN750xi boot up) and report back.

I would eventually very much like to update to a newer database soon though.

Hello,

Thank you, now you have reverted to the PC Trainer's database. Can you confirm correct dto/approach functionality? If this is the case then it will help us as this is the bug that we are looking into, from our side.
