Multiple instances created of gtn_simulator
#1
Hi,
sometimes multiple Instances of gtn_simulator.exe are being started.
SOmetimes 2, sometimes three instance.
Also Audio for example is doubled in this case, with three instances GUI becomes flickering (seems to be fed by each instance, similar to sound doubling).
I have this since 1.0.3, but not sure since I own the gtn only short time (at least never happened with 1.0.2 before)

Thanks!

Hello,

Indeed, there could bee up to two instances of the gtn_simulator.exe, one for each GTNXi unit,s o in a dual GTNXi aircraft, you would see two instances, this would not be a bug.

However, if you experience three instances, please reboot the PC and try again. If you have replicable instructions, we are interesting it looking into this.

I do have three instances frequently, but not sure how to reproduce.
Might longer loading times lead to creation of add instances?
I have three instances mostly, and GTN GUI is then fed by multiple instances at the same time. For example at startup they seem to concur about autoclicking the buttons at start (continue)

Pls find some screenshots attached.
Basically in this case only 1 GTN is active, the other deactivated.
Two instances are started, and both of them are fighting for the GUI.
Imagine a video where the two screenshots alternate automatically, because each instance is fighting for the GUI (for example proceeding the continue button). Also the GUI is then more or less flickering, because both the processes seem to try to control it in parallel.

Hope that helps

Hello,

Thank you for explaining this to us. Does this occur the first time the aircraft is loaded or after subsequent aircraft loading/power changes?

Can you try, as a test, to manually close them from the Task Manager/details tab?

Yes I do think at least that the issue only  occurs when first time starting a flight.
at least I have never experienced  this with a subsequent flight.
i can close  the superfluous instances via task manager and if only one instance remains ( I typically delete the upper to leave the lower one)  then it is working fine ( fighting for gui stops  and operation seems is normal)

Hello,

Can you please attempt to replicate the bug by the most simple scenario, as you have stated above: "occurs when first time starting a flight", if possible with an aircraft with a single GTNXi installation.

Then close X-Plane and send us the log file from My Documents: TDSGTNXPlaneLog.txt

You can upload it here or send it to us via Discord (DM @TDSSim) / email, making reference to this post.
