The GTN starts with the battery main bus, and when I change it in the settings to Avionics it works only with the avionics bus, however, once I power cycle this, it gets back to Battery. which parameter in the config file should I alter pelase?
Hi,
I’m having repeatable crashes and blank windows when trying to pop out the TDS GTNXi 750 in X‑Plane and move it to a second monitor. System and versions
Windows 11 (fully updated)
X‑Plane 12.4.3 / 12.4.4, Vulkan with Zink
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, both monitors connected to this card
TDS GPS Manager 1.0.1.8
GTNXi PC Trainer: 20.42.2.0
X‑Plane 12 GTNXi: 1.0.1.4
Aviation Trainer: 3.10.3.0
What I’m trying to do
Load X‑Plane 12.4.x, default aircraft with GTNXi integration.
Use the TDS plugin in X‑Plane to pop out the GTN 750 window.
Drag that popped‑out GTN to my secondary monitor so I can use it there.
Problem / symptoms
When I pop out the GTN 750, X‑Plane spawns what looks like a second GTN window.
The front window is blank (no GTN display).
There appears to be another GTN window “behind” it that is actually working, but it’s completely covered by the blank one, so I can’t interact with it.
If I try to move this setup to the second monitor, X‑Plane soon crashes.
This happens whether I use the plugin menu pop‑out or the assigned keybind to toggle the pop‑up.
What I’ve already tried
Confirmed both monitors are on the same GPU (no iGPU outputs).
Ran X‑Plane in windowed mode and also tried changing graphics settings (turning Zink off, lowering textures/MSAA).
Disabled other plugins to test with only TDS and default Laminar content.
Confirmed that in at the end, consistent with a graphics/device loss when using custom avionic pop‑outs.
There is no explicit “plugin X caused this crash” line; it looks like a graphics/device crash while the GTN pop‑out is active.
Question / request
Is this a known issue with the current X‑Plane GTNXi build (custom avionic device pop‑outs on multi‑monitor setups)?
Is there a recommended way to run the GTN in a standalone/external window on a second monitor for X‑Plane (similar to how you advise MSFS users), or a beta/hotfix that addresses blank GTN pop‑ups and crashes when moved between monitors?
Thanks in advance for any guidance. I’d really like to use the GTN 750 on my second monitor with X‑Plane 12, but right now the pop‑out behavior is unusable because of the blank window and crash.
I recently got a new PC, and after reinstalling MSFS and the TDS GTNXi, the performance of the GTN display is very bad. It's slow to respond and had a very poor framerate. The framerate of the sim is fine, I easily get 50ish FPS (without framegen).
I have read and done the steps in the performance tips thread, so gtn_simulator has a windows defender exemption, but it did not make any difference. I tried popping out the window, but the issue is significantly worse if I do that, the GTN unit is even less responsive in that case.
My specs are
Graphics card: Nvidia 3090
CPU: AMD 9950x3d
Ram: 32GB ddr5
Here is a video I took of the issue, experienced with the A2A commanche:
I tried a couple other aircraft such as the Black Square baron and bonanza, and they were exactly the same.
I am on version 3.10.3.0 of the aviation trainer, 20.42.2.0 of the GTNXi PC Trainer and 1.3.1.4 of the executable
Just Bought the TDS GTN750 for xp12 and followed all instructions to install properly. However when i go to launch xplane with the plugin installed it gives a error here is a picture.
The problem only exists with the TDSGTN plugin installed when it is removed the sim launches fine here is a copy of my log.txt as well
Hi,
Every time I start TDS GPS manager there is the prompt that GTNXI PC Trainer needs update, I have updated it but Download And Update prompt are always coming back.
I have updated Manager as required also
Hello,
not sure why but I'm getting a blank screen on the GTN750XI in MSFS2024, it was working yesterday.
I believe I have the exclusions covered in windows defender.
I tried reinstalls of everything.
without even starting the sim when i try to use the trainer the screen comes up blank.
It looks like it's trying to load, but thats just a quick flash then blank screen.
maybe a windows update?
I'm attaching the three files in the documents folder.
hoprfully that will be of help.
Could you please give me a list of optimised GTN750 settings I can apply in your excellent TDS control app. I would like to optimise for the Hype H145. After some testing it's not actually that clear if the settings such as OS etc affect this aircraft at all?
Need some guidance. I can't figure out how to disable the 'TDS GTNXi MFD Integration For C172SP' in MSFS 2020 Steam version. I have no option to deleted it from the Marketplace. I have tried renaming, deleting all the instances where I have have the tds-gtnxi-c172sp and tds-gtnxi-gauge folders but the folders continue to get regenerated when MSFS starts. I still have TDS GTNXi and installed but I do not have it setup to autostart when the MSFS 2020 starts. Wen I start TDS GTNXi, it works as advertised with the GTN750 displaying in the G1000 MFD.
I want to be able to switch from using TDS GTNXi with the default C-172SP G1000 for some flights but also fly the C-172SP with both the G1000 PFD and G1000 MFD when I want to practice with both G1000 screens.
i am logged into my TDS account and i see my purchased product ID:
6f1SFTOXJWJZ
when i click the download button for TDS GTNXI Flight Sim Pro Full" it redirects me to the TDS GPS Manager instead of downloading the GTNXI installer. I have tried multiple browsers and cleared cache, but the download link still points to
the wrong file.
Can you please relink my account to the correct GTNXI Flight Sim Pro installer?
